  1. Kia ora Mariko,

My name is Rachel and I am working with the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. It is such a pleasure to read your work and to post comments, particularly as you have posted such a cool picture of your garden. I recently planted a veggie garden at my house with my son, Aronui. He is eight years old and he's really keen to learn more about gardening. We planted capsicum, beans, beetroot, tomatoes, lettuce, and stawberries in our small garden. What have you planted in your garden?

I am hoping to expand our garden to include herbs pretty soon. We're thinking of adding mint, coriander, parsley, thyme, and basil. Do you have any herbs in your garden? If so, what do you have? I'd love to know as I am very new to the world of gardening and could use any advice/help that I could get!

I hope that you'll keep up with your blogging over the summer. We'll look forward to reading your upcoming posts!

    Cheers,
    Rachel (and the SLJ team)

  2. Hi Mariko. Merry Christmas. I didn't know you had a garden you looked after at home. What kind of veggies have you planted? You may be able to help us with our garden at school in 2019. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.
