Summer Learning Journey Day 2 Activity 3: Miracle on the Hudson [6 points]

Once i was at camp at 2018 and it was night and me and my friends were in our cabin and we were about to sleep, until we heard strange noises outside our window and we saw that it was open but everybody in our cabin was scared to close it. We shined our flashlight onto the window and we heard squeaking so we thought it was a possum bc we have saw a possum at this camp but the problem is we are all scared of possums. We whispered to each other for what we will do and we came up with a plan. The plan was that one of us would get our blanket and crawl to the window and all of us would shine our flashlight on the path so he can see but no one wanted to crawl bc everybody thought that the possum would climb the window and eat them. So we were about to do rock paper scissors until this guy called Shane wanted to do it and we agreed bc it looked like there was more possums outside so he successfully did it and we thanked him and he called us scaredy cats.

  1. Hey Mariko,

That's a really spooky story, you've told it well too, lots of detail and dialogue and know exactly the feeling you're getting at especially when it's night and you're pretty sure it's something safe and fine but you still don't want to get out of bed or leave where you feel safe.

I think it was brave of your Shane to do that but uncool of him to call you all names afterwards. That's really cool that you shared this story, I'm proud of you for sharing a story about being scared, I think that's a brave thing itself to tell a story where someone else was the brave one. Well done.

Looking forward to seeing more awesome posts from your Mariko.

    see you in the comments.

    Daniel :)
